How did you feel when you read this story of 'friendship and tolerance'?
I loved it. There was a connection with the director. I felt I understood what he was trying to say, the way in which two people are able to communicate from their solitude. Even though they are very different, there is always a possibility of communication if each of them is willing to contribute something of their own.
Did you look for some connection with your character?
At that time in my life I felt completely identified with Pilar in many ways. The same thing happens with them all; it is the only way I have of understanding them. Any character, from a murderer to Pilar identifies with you in some way or other; it is just question of finding where.
The complicity between the two actors was fundamental to 'Padam...'.
Yes. When you work with people you know well, as in this case, the opposite of what you expect can happen. Sometimes friendship has nothing to do with your ability to work. The key is professionalism. Marko Mihailovic and I had an amazing connection, not just because we are friends, but because his working methods are ideal for me. He is very generous.
Lately you have been more involved in theatre and television. Are there any film projects on the horizon?
I will probably shoot another short film with the same director and there is a possibility of a feature, although it has not yet been confirmed. I would love to do more cinema. Before 'Padam...' I wasn't so sure.
