Here is the love story of Sebas and Andrea, first-time university students, in the 1958-1959 academic year. Here is how social class and ideology become insurmountable obstacles? Here is the architecture marking, unnoticed, the dotted line that ends up dictating their emotion.

Elias León Siminiani

León Siminiani is a screenwriter and director. He has explored different formats and genres in eight short films and two feature documentaries halfway between diary films and film essay: MAP (2012) and NOTES FOR A HEIST FILM (2018), both nominated for the Goya in the Best Documentary category. He has also written and directed two documentary TV series for platforms THE ASUNTA CASE (Atresmedia/ Netflix, 2016) and THE ALCASSER MURDERS (Netflix, 2019). In 2022 he release 800, a new documentary TV series for Netflix about the 17A bombing attacks in Barcelona and Cambrils. While preparing his third feature film for theaters, in recent years he has been immersed in the slow gestation of two short films THE STILLNESS SYNDROME (2021, Fugas Documenta Madrid Award 2021 and Best Short Alcine 2021) and EMOTIONAL ARCHITECTURE 1959 (to be released in 2022), which mark his return to the territory of the film-essay.

Likewise, Siminiani has explored hybrid formats with pieces such as Zoom (2005) or the series Limits (2009), winner, among others, of the First Prize at the Alcalá Festival (Alcine 09), and the First Prize of the Ibero-American Contest for Short Films, Spanish Version (TVE).

In 2011 he premiered a new fiction short film entitled El Premio, whose fiction proposal based on a real event was recently nominated for the 2012 Goya Awards for best fiction short film. Produced by Avalon P.C., Split Screen and himself, Map is his first feature film where he continues to investigate the fertile frontier where fiction and non-fiction meet.
