River goes to their first appointment at the "Gender Identity Disorder Unit". There, River has to answer the psychiatrist’s test that will decide if they will be able to access the care they need. River knows exactly what she has to say, but one small detail will endanger their plans.
Paco Ruiz (Madrid, Spain, 02/12/1984) grew up among the corridors of his neighborhood’s video store. Today he works as a postproduction operator (“Lullaby”, “The Year of the Discovery”, “Black Beach”). In 2020 he directed the short film “Three Times”, candidate for the Goya Awards 2021 in the category of Best Fiction Short Film, selected in more than 30 national and international festivals. He also won, among others, the Best New Author Award at the Elche International Independent Film Festival and the Best National Short Film Award and Best Screenplay in Cortogenia. “Standard deviation” is his second short film as a director.
