The awards of ALCINE cover almost the entire process concealed behind the making of a short film, above and beyond the directing and acting. That is why, its awards recognise the work of numerous professionals from a variety of fields who all have a hand in the finished product which is a short film.
Two new awards have now joined the others presented at the Alcalá de Henares / Comunidad de Madrid film festival. Welab, a Madrid company that provides audio-visual equipment rental, audio-visual services, training, consultancy and digital post-production will be awarding the prize for best photography. The prize includes 1000 euros worth of audio-visual equipment rental for making a short film.
And the post-production, graphic design, traditional animation, 3D and conceptual design studio User T38, will produce the design of the poster for the next winner of the National Short Film Award. User T38 has designed posters for Agora, by Alejandro Amenábar, Pan’s Labyrinth, by Guillermo del Toro, 3 Bodas de más and Requisitos para ser una persona normal to name but a few (the last two; Feroz Awards for Best Poster in 2014 and 2016 respectively).
As is traditional, will we be awarding the Higher School of Image and Sound (CES) prize for Best Sound, consisting of 3,000 euros in post-production sound services for a future sound editing job. Also, as in previous years, the union of scriptwriters ALMA will be awarding the prize for the best script (300 €). The Movistar + award with the purchase of the rights to the chosen short film for release in Spain, and the Audience award of the Youth Department are other prizes awarded at the Festival. The AMA Prize (Madrid Audio-visual Association) for best Madrid Production.
The 'City of Alcalá' awards are given to the three most outstanding short films in the opinion of the jury of the competition, worth 7,000, 3,500 and 2,000 € apiece, and the ‘Comunidad de Madrid’ award, worth 2,500 €, for the best short film shot by a Madrid production company. A short film that will also obtain the AMA award (Madrid Audio-visual Association).
