The new edition of ALCINE has kicked off with the opening of its registration of its two short film competitions, national and european, to all who wish to enter.
For the national competition, the oldest competition in the festival, shorts have to be from 2015 or 2016, cannot have been previously registerd, must be less than 60 minutes, and must be of spanish production or direction. Registration for this competition ends September 1. These are the different competition prizes:
First Prize: 7,000 € and trophy. / Second Prize: 3,500 € and trophy. / Third Prize: 2,000 € y trophy.
School of Image and Sound Prize (CES) for Best Sound: 3,000 € in postproduction sound services for the next work of the sound editor.
‘Movistar +’ Prize: Channel + will submit a prize to the best short film. This prize consists of the purchase of rights for its broadcast in Spain.
‘ALMA’ Prize for Best Script: 300 €
‘Concejalía de Juventud del Excmo. Ayto. de Alcalá de Henares’ Public Prize: Selected by vote from the attending public.
‘Comunidad de Madrid’ Prize: Endowment: 2,500 € and trophy.
AMA (Asociación Madrileña Audiovisual) Prize for the Best Madrid Produced Film.
To take part in and register a short film for the European competition the film must be less than 30 minutes, be from 2015 or 2016, not have been previously registered in ALCINE, and be a production from Europe (with exception of Spain, whose films will be directly registered in the national competition). Registration for this competition ends July 1.
These shorts will have the opportunity to win ALCINE prizes, endowments of 5,000€, 3,000€, and 2,000€ respectively as well as the public award.
