ALCINE is returning to its old habit of holding a concert the night before the official opening. First there were the concerts of Marlango, Jorge Dréxler, Najwa Nimri, etc., and this year, it is the turn of Amparo Sánchez. After a long career fronting Amparanoia, she is now going solo.
At ALCINE she will be presenting tracks from her latest album, Alma de Cantaora, a life-affirming, heartfelt record championing the little pleasures in life. Innocence and wisdom, rebellion and spontaneous simplicity in equal measure.
Her record will be released in far-flung locations such as Japan, Argentina and Mexico, and following a tour around Spain, she’ll be visiting the rest of Europe and Latin America to present the work. Then it is off to Australia for two concerts at Womad in New Plymouth.
But before all of the above, she has an appointment at ALCINE, on the 9th of November, at 21:30 in the Teatro Salón Cervantes.
